Voltz Clarke Gallery is pleased to present works from Maru Quiñonero's Spring 2025 exhibition at Palacio Almudí de Murcia in Murcia, Spain, LA EXTRANJERA.
This latest body of work continues Quiñonero's exploration of balance, perception, and the use of color. Exhibited this past spring at El Palacio Almudí de Murcia, the organic raspberry, rose, and peach hued paintings filled the exhibition space in the Renaissance building in southeastern Spain. Quiñonero reflects on when she moved from Murcia to pursue her art career fifteen years ago and the symbolic homecoming with this museum show. Each painting carries a title that reflects on the Spanish artist’s daily inspirations, from music to mantras. The large scale of the paintings calmly fills the gallery with Quiñonero’s delicate brushstrokes and attention to detail shining through each pigmented orb.
Maru Quiñonero is a self taught artist, living and working in Madrid, Spain. Exhibiting extensively since 2003, she attended Murcia University and continued on to complete her masters at Carlos III University, Madrid.
