Press Release

Voltz Clarke Gallery is pleased to present CLEAN, a solo exhibition, by Gemma Gené.

“Clean” is more than a word; it is a symbol of hope, renewal, and resilience. In her latest body of work, Barcelona-born and Los Angeles-based artist Gemma Gené explores the concept of starting over through hyper-realistic depictions of cleaning products. These everyday objects become powerful metaphors for transformation, representing the tools we use to rebuild, reclaim, and redefine after loss.

Inspired by the devastating fires in Los Angeles that left families and businesses forced to start from scratch, CLEAN marks a significant milestone in Gené’s career and artistic journey. Through the exhibition, the Spanish painter reflects on themes of destruction and renewal, inviting viewers to find meaning in the act of beginning again. Through meticulous detail and emotional resonance, this collection stands as a testament to human resilience and the transformative power of art.

Gemma Gené received a Masters in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in addition to an architectural degree from La Salle University in Barcelona, Spain. She expanded her education in Architecture and Fine Art at Escola da Cidade, São Paulo, Brazil and University of California Berkeley. Gené is an award-winning artist and published illustrator. As a hyperrealist painter, she is influenced by architectural language and the study of volume and geometry. Gené’s work has been exhibited in New York, Palm Beach, Barcelona, Madrid, and Mallorca.
