The Colony Hotel and Voltz Clarke Gallery are pleased to present FERUS LUXE, a solo exhibition by Mark Boomershine.
FERUS LUXE is a celebration of the wild rendered with reverence—where exotic animals become symbols of beauty, presence, and power. This vivid body of work explores the tension between instinct and elegance: the untamed and the regal. Each painting invites the viewer into a world of color, motion, and mythic personality, honoring nature not as background, but as royalty—alive with confidence, mystery, and allure.
Mark Boomershine’s portrayal of the creatures is accompanied with gold leaf, reminiscent of coastal sunlight, differentiating the subject matter from the setting. The palette of light blues, rich greens, and bright pinks are nods to turn of the century scientific illustrations, yet brought into the present day with splashes of unexpected whimsy. A tropical essence runs through the series, infused with the vibrancy of wildlife and greenery that defines
Palm Beach’s landscape. The feeling of standing alongside the animals is tangible, whether it’s the flamingos taking flight off the right side of a diptych or the peacock’s majestic, luscious feathers seeming to drape beyond the canvas. This sense of proximity draws viewers into the scene, as though the animals are moving within arm’s reach.
