Press Release

Voltz Clarke Gallery is pleased to present Stills and Stripes, a solo exhibition by Daniel Adenitan.

In Stills and Stripes, Daniel Adenitan transforms familiar floral arrangements into thoughtful explorations of color, pattern, and form. Building upon his signature flat painting technique, he combines layered patterns with harmonious color palettes to create compositions that are both playful and refined. Set against naturally toned striped backgrounds, the works reflect the artist's fascination with uncovering beauty in everyday subjects. Through vibrant color relationships and patterned surfaces, Adenitan’s floral compositions elevate ordinary objects into contemplative studies of beauty and observation.

These works speak to the artist’s enduring interest in finding wonder within the familiar. As Adenitan notes, his paintings “serve as a testament to his fascination with the beauty found in everyday objects and the joy of exploring the world around him.” Through this series, Adenitan reimagines everyday subjects through color and pattern, inviting viewers to discover wonder in the ordinary.

Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Daniel Adenitan received a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts (Visual Arts) from the University of Lagos in 2019 and began painting professionally soon after. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, Adenitan is recognized for his vibrant color palettes and layered patterns. His work has been exhibited in New York and Nigeria and has also been featured on Platform. This marks Adenitan’s fifth exhibition at Voltz Clarke Gallery.
