New York, NY February 2017 – Voltz Clarke Gallery is pleased to present First Looks, a solo exhibition featuring new photographs by Landon Nordeman.
Landon Nordeman (American) is a New York- based photographer who is known for his use of color, strong compositions and sense of humor. Both artist and journalist, his candid images of state fairs, dog shows, political rallies, and fashion week expose the extraordinary in everyday life, and the humor in extraordinary life. Nordeman is attracted to mystery and moments, preferring his work to ask a question, not provide an answer. His mastery of light combined with an eye to documenting unexpected moments create visually and intellectually powerful compositions.
Nordeman’s first monograph, ‘Out of Fashion,’ featuring his work from the last four years of fashion week in New York, Milan and Paris, published by Damiani, was named one of the best photo books of 2016 by Time Magazine.
First Looks will be Nordeman’s first solo exhibition in NYC, and will be his first time exhibiting his fashion work—including new pictures from this season in New York and Paris where he shot for Vogue Paris, The New York Times and New York Magazine.
The artist has been exhibited in multiple galleries including The Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York City and The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing among other venues, and his work is in the collections of The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and The Columbus Museum of Art.
